Sept. 28-29 (Wed.-Thur.): Very pleasant both days. High on Wednesday was 81. High on Thursday was 71. Light winds. There were a few scatter cirrus clouds. Wednesday was still a bit hazy and smoky to the northeast in the direction of the San Benito County controlled burn. The only noticeable smoke on Thursday drifted into the Arroyo Seco Valley from a structure fire in Greenfield extinguished by Monterey County Fire. The highlight of the two days was the aerial combat between a golden eagle on the defense and a red-tailed hawk on the offense.
